Cultivating a Security Sensitive Culture
The ultimate goal of the UHCL Cybercorps Project is to embed security-related modules in existing courses inorder to help build a strong cybersecurity program and, even more importantly, to help to cultivate a security-sensitive culture. Students will learn how to evaluate potential security risks in the context of different subjects that they are learning, whether it is programming languages, database systems, operating systems, or network administration. Furthermore, not all instructors have had formal security education; some instructors may not be equipped to develop suitable security modules for courses that they teach. Embedded security modules developed by security experts will help instructors to deliver security components in their respective courses.
